I didn’t grow up with a father, so I never really learned a lot of the basic home maintenance or handyman-type skills. But I really want to become the kind of husband and dad who knows how to handle things around the house. I’m talking stuff like: Changing a toilet Fixing or replacing lighting fixtures Basic carpentry Drywall repairs Using tools properly General home maintenance Car Maintenance For the guys who learned later in life, where did you start? Are classes worth it, or is YouTube honestly the best teacher for this kind of stuff? Also, how do you get over the fear of messing something up when you’re first learning? submitted by /u/Stuntman_800
