I pay the max subscription for peace of mind so I don’t have to worry about hitting the limits, since my use and workload is not intensive. However, today I started working on a medium-sized project (~10k LOCs) and hit the limits really fast. To be fair, I was using Opus 4.7 with High effort for planning and implementation, and I know this is not the smartest way to optimize my usage. But the part that frustrates me is that I barely use Claude Code in my daily workflow, and the first time I want to push a little further, this happens. Any advice or smarter ways to manage Claude Code usage? I read a while ago that using Sonnet as Opus (for planning) and Haiku as Sonnet (for implementing) is a good idea. I would like to know other experiences with this or other kinds of strategies. submitted by /u/therealnome01
