The changes jagex proposed are nice. But they fundamentally ignore the basic problem trawling has. It has been and will always be kneecapped by the rapid clicking of nets as the “active” method of trawling. Make the baseline experience (not XP but the feel of doing the activity) less shitty, first of just flat out remove the rapid clicking. It’s idiotic it’s lasted through multiple iterations of trawling. Just stop trying to make it happen. It’s like fetch, it ain’t happening. Here’s a couple proposals: First, the most simple solution: Just plain ole remove rapid clicking from trawling. Second: Remove rapid clicking and change trawling to be where the less active version is to ignore raising and lowering of nets, and the active method be the raising and lowering of nets. Trade off is less fish (reduced rate) if your nets aren’t at the appropriate height. Third idea, add occasional fishing boosts like in GF or MM where you get the specially timed action to improve the thing. Rapidly clicking and not even doing real tick manip is boring, lazy of jagex, and an excuse to not actually improve the content. TLDR: Rapidly clicking nets is lame, make it complex and rewarding, make it lazy, make it anything but mind-numbingly spamming clicks on a net. It’s fucking embarrassing that this is the “active” version of the activity. submitted by /u/ksp_physics_guy
