Back in march of last year i 32 (m) was with a girl 31 (f) ive known since college. We were together unprotected and she turns up pregnant. At the same time this girl had and still has the same boyfriend 34 (m) from college. I used to purchase shrugs from him in college but outside of the i never interacted with him. But here’s when things start to get even weirder. I found out she was pregnant the following month from her sister in law who i ran into at a party of a coworker. So i contact the mom asking if this is true. At first she lies but ultimately comes clean. I then suggest we get a prenatal dna test and she obliges. When it comes time to checkout for the test I told her that for accuracy im gonna need her to get dna from her boyfriend so that we can get accurate results, but she starts fighting me tooth and nail and making excuses as to why that wouldnt be possible. So i just walked away. But my conscience kept eating at me so about 4 or 5 months into her pregnancy, i just kept calling her but she wouldnt answer. The baby was born in december of 2025 for context. So as of March of 2026 she finally contacts me and asks if i’d like to do a peace of mind dna test and i oblige. But here’s the issue, she lead her boyfriend to believe that the child is his and had him sign the birth certificate. On top of that, theyve taken family style pictures with the baby and his family is super involved. She has allowed me to spend time with the baby in person twice since contacting me in march but i really want to be there for my child, support her and not miss any of her growing moments but she definitely is keeping me at a distance on purpose. So i contacted a lawyer to file a complaint for genetic testing against her and i have a consultation with the lawyer this week. But if you were in this situation how you handle it? submitted by /u/ConferencePrudent361
