From what I’ve found, the age of sexual consent in Switzerland was 16, and before July 2014 there may have been a legal gap where paid sexual services involving 16–17-year-olds were not automatically criminalized unless coercion, exploitation, dependency, or pimping was involved. Then in 2014, Swiss law was reportedly changed so that paying for sexual services from anyone under 18 became illegal. Am I understanding this correctly? Especially interested in input from people familiar with Swiss law or legal history. I can’t believe my eyes, which is why I’m turning to you. Is that really true? I can’t imagine that it was allowed; otherwise, there would have been a lot of discussion in the media. I can’t remember anything.
