Hi, I’m a m32 will be 33 in September. Currently forever going through life changes without a trade. Start a new Job next week shit salary 28k The company knew my skills too and only offered 28k I have lots in the pipeline because I want to commit to change Funny enough I’m in the running for an AI job at £80-100k and I find out next week But so far it’s like 28k and potentially 3x wage if I was lucky enough to slip through I have applied to some great paid apprenticeship which I’m far in the process some are paying 30-35k starting in September which also gets you a level 6 and a university degree whilst working Just wondering with these tough times what everyone here would choose, my gf thinks I should pursue more management jobs but myself keeps thinking get a trade even if it’s 4 years will be 37 and still have 30’years left to work In my head this job I’m at now lowballed me so I’ll happily do the work but if anything better comes up I’m off. Perks of devaluing your staff. Some of of the apprenticeships I’m in the running for cybersecurity, Risk Analyst, aircraft engineer, electrical engineer. My state of play would be starting my new job Monday, and getting told I have the 80k ai job end of next week (which I’m doubtful because feels like a dream and most people going for these jobs have masters of computer science etc) But then I think paid apprenticeships 30k+ which set me for life are the future Thoughts? submitted by /u/savvytechman
