Saw the Anthropic announcement around Claude Code / Agent SDK usage and I’m pretty disappointed. I mainly use Claude Code through the CLI. I don’t really use many of the other Anthropic subscription features, so I’m trying to understand the actual value here. Am I reading this correctly: the credits included with a paid subscription are basically usable like API credits, token-for-token / dollar-for-dollar against usage? Or is there some different conversion where the subscription credit is worth more or less than straight API spend? Because if it’s effectively just API usage at the same rate, with no real multiplier or extra value, then I don’t see the point of locking money into a subscription credit bucket that I may or may not fully use. At that point, it seems cleaner to cancel the sub and just pay for API tokens directly. Am I missing something? submitted by /u/saucytech
