I’m not asking this to start a gender war or say women don’t face sexism too. I’m genuinely curious why negative generalizations about men (“men are trash,” “all men are dangerous,” etc.) often seem more publicly acceptable online and sometimes even offline. Do people think this is because: people see it as “punching up”? it’s often treated as jokes rather than real prejudice? historical sexism against women overshadows sexism against men? or is it just social media amplifying extreme opinions?
