Hi everybody, my girlfriend and I were traveling on the S15 today from 18:51 to 19:20 from Rüti to Zürich HB. My girlfriend had a small black cabin trunk / carry-on case (the kind of size that can be taken on board aeroplanes that allow up to 10kg for passengers, afaik) with her, which has a red string wrapped around the carrying strap, with an old laptop and some clothes inside of it—not much else, or at least nothing of value. I left the train in Uster and my girlfriend stayed on the S15, continuing on to Zürich HB. She was feeling a bit dizzy because we ate something heavy earlier that day, so she went to the toilet shortly before Zürich Stadelhofen at around 19:10, stowing her suitcase under the seat. When she came back to her seat at around 19:18 or 19:19, shortly before arriving at Zurich HB at 19:20, she noticed that the suitcase was gone. The train only stopped at Zürich Stadelhofen at 19:17 when she was still in the toilet. She’s now very worried and in tears because she has a lot of documents on that laptop that are very important for her to get her college degree, and also forms and stuff in connection with her visas and stuff like that. I told her that the most likely scenario is that someone thought the suitcase was accidentally left behind / forgotten by someone, so I thought I’d reach out here on Reddit to ask if anybody has maybe seen this suitcase and taken it home or dropped it off at an SBB lost and found office. We are now filling out the online forms and I will contact the SBB tomorrow in the hope that there might be camera footage that could help us in case it was stolen, which I think is unlikely but of course also far from impossible.
