New to claude code here and wondering what’s the best way to go about selecting models and efforts to make the best of the usage limits. I’m wondering:
- if Opus 4.6 still preferred over Opus 4.7 since 4.7 burns more usage with the new tokenizer is there any task where you would even want to use it?
- what effort is the best balance of usage limits and performance on both Sonnet and Opus? is Opus Low better than Sonnet High (and how are their respective usage consumption)
- do you start new projects with opus and refine with sonnet or start with sonnet and use opus for fixes? Just trying to wrap my head around things and wondering what your personal choices are - TIA! submitted by /u/waste2treasure-org
