Between OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Microsoft, Facebook all investing heavily into AI infrastructure etc. Outside investors pouring money in at significant levels. If we are at an exponential growth for AI development and its supposed to be deflationary, Whats in it for the investors and the balance sheets? Like who’s going to pay off all that infrastructure debt when the value of things go to near zero? I have a naive understanding, but I imagine the driver for the investment is the race to have the best product. Companies are in competition for status in this field and want to be seen as leaders. It’s capitalism and the ego of powerful corporations that have money to throw around.
