Hey full disclosure im M - lgbt. I have quite a few friends who are furries (im not a furrie) but I am closely related in being a kinky pup guy. I also teach at a uni and have my phone screen saver thats furrie fan art that a friend created for me as a gift (its SFW), looks like a cute cartoon of a fox. My pup and furrie friends think its cute but also funny I have it as the screensaver. They say ohh the students will think im a furrie and im like nah not many besides perhaps lgbtq guys would recognise it as furrie let alone know much about furries or pups. I had no idea when I was in my 20s of this stuff but I kmow times have changed massively with social media. They go, oh nooo, they alllllll know about furries and pups and would think u r one with that screenaver. So can I get your opinion/insights: - especially if u r str8 not lgbtq on: Do you know about furrie / pup communities? If you dont pls Indicate that as well as this is just as important to know. If u saw a furrie art screensaver on a persons phone, would u recognise it as furrie art and think the person withit is a furrie (again im not but I dont care if they think I am tbh). If you do know of furries and pups (separately) whats your thoughts and the str8 communities general perceptions of them. Is it positve, negative, meh, weridooos, or idgaf u do u and what r your general thoughts about us (especially interested re pups as thats what I am). Someone told me that were viewed as suoer cringe. Im open to hear any positive, negative stuff relating to above as being a pup and within pup / furrie comminity bubble its impossible to gain an insight into the broader awareness and perceptions of pup and furrie communities both amongst str8 and lgtb communities. Fwiw ive only had positive interactions from gays and str8 girls, unsure about str8 guys tho. Thanks! 🐶 submitted by /u/WagsPup
