Leagues 6 has a lot of fun moments and a lot of really strange, tough moments for me as a casual. While overall I would consider it a decent leagues, I feel there’s a lot that could’ve been better. I’d personally put this leagues at a 6.5/10, I personally haven’t enjoyed it as much as Trailblazer reloaded or Raging Echoes. Good : Tasks felt balanced, quick, fun Relics were very reasonable to achieve and rewarding for the most part Relics were very interesting, new and unique this leagues Combat tree has way more ways to progress Combat had way more interesting mechanics Reset for combat made it feel way more flexible Varlamore start made a very interesting twist that made the start very fun and interesting! Farming speed up for everyone was great Bad : Demonic pact acquisition was vastly different in RNG/effort between regions. Tier 6/8 relic feels very lackluster To me, this matters because the time investment to get here should make it feel like these matter. Ultimately, Tier 6+ didn’t feel good. Flow State. Lots of opinions on this, mine is it was too restricted in what it applied to. Others have mentioned it being an earlier choice. Mage was the only universally good combat style. Other combat styles felt bad (melee) or required specific regions to feel useful (range). To clarify, I think what makes melee and range feel pretty awful is the lack-luster healing/sustain. Melee does have a super interesting build, but as a casual it felt very punishing. Echo items were really unbalanced overall 3 clear winners, Kandarin, Wilderness and Tirawinn. All other echo items felt overall useless compared. Ugly: Bad for new players Leagues historically was used to get new players to try the game. This league has such a massive learning overhead, especially with combat, that I’m not sure new players enjoyed it. Could be wrong. Early game melee/range felt awful . Previous leagues had early game combat benefit heavily from your combat choice. While I like the flexibility of this league, this was just brutal. Some relics felt like we’ve seen them a lot (Endless Harvest, Grimoire) or felt like they were a last minute copy/paste even though this league adjusted core mechanics (Nature’s Accord and Friendly Forager) Basically only 5 real capstones were in use: Water, Thorns, Blindbag, Crossbows, Air. There was 12 and it felt like an illusion of choice in the end more than a vast number of choices. submitted by /u/NoodsAndCo
