Working with agents daily, the pattern I hate most is the repeat offense. Yesterday my setup had the agent try the same destructive temp cleanup command it had already been told was dangerous twice before. Another 15 minutes and several thousand tokens gone. ThumbGate changes that: type “thumbs down: risky rm pattern on /tmp/build” once. It captures it locally and promotes a Pre-Action Gate. Next session the exact pattern is blocked before execution. Zero cloud, zero LLM in the enforcement loop. v1.20.0 added sensible TTL (90 days default for auto gates, refreshes if they fire) so you’re not stuck with accidental rules forever. Quick start: npx thumbgate init Works across Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Amp, Cline, OpenCode, MCP agents + VS Code/JetBrains. Free tier is actually usable now. What’s the one pattern you wish was auto-blocked? DISCLOSURE: I’m the developer of ThumbGate submitted by /u/eazyigz123
