Been shipping with agents daily and the pattern that pisses me off most is when they “know” the constraint but still try the dangerous thing again. Explicit instruction in the system prompt / context: do not touch production DBs or run migrations. Agent acknowledges it… then attempts the migration anyway. Second time this month. Same token waste, same risk. ThumbGate v1.21.0 (May 19) makes the fix stupidly simple: one thumbs-down on the exact violation. It becomes a local Pre-Action Gate that blocks that pattern before any tool call. 100% local, no LLM in the enforcement path. Works with Claude Code, Cursor, xAI Grok Build CLI (native), etc. v1.21.0 also cleaned up some marketing claims and added deployment fixes. Free tier is actually usable now (unlimited captures + 5 auto gates). npx thumbgate init GitHub: https://github.com/IgorGanapolsky/ThumbGate https://thumbgate.ai/ Also available on aiventyx.com/marketplace Disclosure: I’m the developer of ThumbGate. Anyone else hitting the “agent knows the rule but still violates it” loop? What’s the repeat offense that’s costing you the most? submitted by /u/eazyigz123
