On Windows, any time I click the message in Claude Desktop to update and relaunch, Claude Desktop won’t start again until I reboot the whole machine. I get an error message that says “another program is currently using this file.” I’ve tried ending all Node processes in Task Manager. Same result. I also let Codex Desktop try to figure it out, and it looked at way more things than I would have, but couldn’t fix it either. I can’t be shutting everything down and restarting my computer every time this thing wants to ship an update, which is approximately every 5 seconds. As of now, I’m declining to run updates when they appear so that my work and long-running processes can continue, which is non-negotiable much of the time. Does anybody have a solution for this?
