They are also putting together a brand new team in Beijing to build it out. The new group is called the Harness team, and their main goal is to build infrastructure completely from scratch so they can add tool use, planning, and memory functions to their base model. Chen already posted two specific job openings for a product manager and a developer. These roles will work directly with the research team to figure out the roadmap, look at feedback, and grow the dev community. To get the job you need to be a heavy user of existing tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or GitHub Copilot. They also want candidates with deep technical knowledge of things like agent loops, MCP, multi-agent systems, context engineering, and “vibe coding”. By doing this DeepSeek is stepping right into direct competition with the current market leaders like Anthropic’s Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex, and Cursor. It seems like they want to push the competition in the dev automation market and give people an alternative platform to work with. submitted by /u/andrewaltair
