This method is completely broken, doing rune incendiary cannonballs you can get around 250k xp/hr with 1 minute of AFK at a time! (See math below, it’s not 3 minutes of AFK). Not only is this XP rate absolutely ridiculous and breaks the game and overall game health, but with current prices, you only lose ~7.5m GP per hour! This means this disgusting method that has made my kids cry is ONLY 30GP/XP!!! If we compare this to a much more balanced method of training smithing, doing gold ore at blast furnace with 3 runners that you each pay 7m gp/hr (21m gp/hr total), which only gives you a measly 680k xp/hr for a grand total of 33GP/XP you can see how absolutely broken incendiary cannonball smithing is. It absolutely breaks the meta of doing gold at blast furnace which gives 380k xp/hr and costs a wild 0.8 GP/XP. Or making profit doing normal anvil smithing like adamant platebodies for only 240k xp/hr (obviously less AFK though). TLDR; Incendiary Cannonballs are gaming break and need to see their experience drastically reduced along with a captcha minigame introduced between each set of 2 cannonballs smithed in order to bring them in line with normal smithing methods like hopping worlds to repair struts at motherload mine to protect the long term health of the game. Math for reference: 4 ticks per 2 cannonballs, 28 done at a time = 112 ticks per ‘invent’. 112 ticks = 67.2 seconds = 53 ‘invents’ per hour (not losing any ticks) 10 rubium splinters (600 gp/each) + 2 rune cannonballs (750gp/each) = 2 rune incendiary cannonballs (1250gp/each) = (6000 + 1500) - 2500 = 5000gp lost per 2 cannonballs made 56 cannonballs made per ‘invent’ = 140k lost per ‘invent’ 140k x 53 ‘invents’ per hour = 7,420,000gp per hour All prices are based on current GE prices since everyone complaining about it was super conscious of using the current GE prices to show how broken the method was. submitted by /u/ImWhy
