I have a 1 year old and will start school in 2 years. With AI being commonplace, I don’t understand the point of formal education? Maybe the initial school still makes sense, but higher education? What is the point even. Students are choosing to use ChatGPT for every little thing, no brain application. What does the community think of this? Is AI killing curiosity in children? Is it making them not think on their own? Reasoning, critical thinking, research everything being offloaded to the LLMs. The joy of understanding stuff through days of research used to be rewarding. If this goes on, it’s 10-15 years that humans will be completely dependent on AI. Thoughts? submitted by /u/naxaliteindia
