Started Claude today, pre selected sonnet with API?! Hello?! Really sketchy. Ive LITERALLY never touched the model selector. Always used opus 4.7 (1m) with my Max 200$ plan. Today ran ‘claude’ on the terminal and noticed sonnet as default and in front of it: API WHAT?! went to usage on the website and the selector to “usage credits” is turned on. And I spent almost 2$ Luckily I saw early and ran 2 prompts… Literally 2 simple prompts cost me $2 btw… LOL Claude is being as sketchy and weird as possible. Can’t wait for open source to keep up. Image stealing your customer money like that. Important: I don’t use openclaw or Hermes or open code. Just terminal and the agent sdk (which should be fine until jun15, when they will do this Bs and is literally the day I will cancel Claude and move to openAI because you can use their app-server with subscription) So: go check if they are not stealing your money as well this morning.
