i see many people saying they hope the government can regulate the AI industry. no, thats not the solution, the pandoras box is already open. if america regulates AI then china will just get better AI . and AI isnt even the issue here, it is wealth regulation. i dont think you can regulate AI companys, instead i think the answer is in regulating wealth with smart taxes and UBI systems. you can regulate and tax wealth, but you cant “regulate AI” i see so many in the big threads saying UBI cant work and they think real value “has to” come from “work” or a UBI economy cant fuction… i disagree, but i guess, we wont know until the UBI systems are tried… but for you to think it automatically simply “cant work because reasons” , who made you god? what makes you think you cant be wrong? sure, UBI could fail, but its worth a try at least. may as well try a smart system and see how it works i do admit, at the end of the day, the “law of power” dictates society and those with power rule. so the final result will be a struggle of government power between good and evil . between billionaires who want to just exterminate useless humans, and moral people who think theres a better way (or, maybe AI will become self aware and decide to do the exterminating) but lets just assume for now, that AI will remain fully controlled by us. and humans remain the master then the morality of whichever humans are “in power” will dictate the society we live in if a evil person or group is in power, then everyones screwed, and now evil people have control of robotic armies anyway just to get to the point of my post. I will say how my UBI system would work if i could run things if i was supreme leader of a future world. i would totally do UBI. because i believe in god and morality (which i guess means, i think there is a afterlife and i am a eternal spirit child of god sooo i dont really care too much about any of this stuff anyway. i view this reality as a “spirit video game” and god sends us here to have fun playing the game… BUT with that said, while i am alive playing the game, i try to have fun with it.) ill say my simple UBI idea in a moment, but also i do think a population of 500 million humans seems right for the world. (and if we somehow reach other planets, who cares at that point, everyone alive now would already be dead) … but anyway, any population control methods should be moral, and ive thought about this, are there morally good population control options? and i think it can be done morally. i have a baby points idea for population control where each girl is born with 1 baby point and extra baby points will cost money and a world government can set the price of a baby point every month to regulate us down to 500 million population. the goal is to slowly have population shrinking until we reach 500 million. i think a baby points system is better than a total 1 child policy, it creates competition in breeding so stupid people cant just have endless kids, and smarter richer humans will buy the baby points. while some rich people are stupid, this competition will usually mean the smarter mentally superior humans will out compete eachother to breed. this will create a “reverse idiocracy effect” where humans become smarter over time anyway for my simple UBI idea. the government will just create X dollars every month per person. then a sales tax of 15% will eventually bring back that money. and if the UBI stays at a fixed amount, eventually the money supply will grow so large that the 15% tax creates a huge government pile of extra money which just gets destroyed every year. so my system creates AND destroys money, meaning there wont be endless inflation and endless money creation. or i should clarify. my system does create money endlessly, BUT it also will destroy a equal amount of money eventually… my system creates and destroys money, eventually the system will balance itself , the government will destroy its extra piles of money i do believe we should have centralized power in some way, but i think that power should be a government. someone has to have the power, so ideally you want it to at least be a “government of the people” which wields power over you… i would rather a government have power over me than rogue billionaires so to stop individual billionaires (and then, their kids) from getting too powerful, i think a wealth tax is also a good idea. the government can have a large wealth tax on any wealth over 50 million net worth. something like that. the IRS would do audits on billionaires and their mansions and yachts and stocks are taken and sold for taxes anyway i think my main message here is that UBI totally can work, and it more depends on which humans and groups have power. if your rulers are morally good, you can have a UBI paradise. or if your rulers are morally evil, you get exterminated. its not about “if” UBI can work, its about if your rulers will even want you to have it. and i guess ultimately, there will be a power struggle between the forces of good and evil… and i guess the future is in fates hands (or maybe gods hands, if god is real) submitted by /u/tripsho
