As a long time Claude user, I’ve been doing some noticing here. Over time, it seems the token usage for the same tasks , with an equivalent model , with the appropriate effort level on a fresh session has been gradually increasing over time. I am not a giga user by any means, but in the good ol’ days, I could say “Hey Claude, do something simple please!”. And Claude would say, “Okay! <3” Tokens: 120 These days, I say the same thing and Claude goes, “Fine! But first-” Tokens: 5,747,543,430… Now obviously that’s some hyperbole, but my Scooby senses are telling me I’m subsidizing giga users out here. Vibe coding off my blood, sweat and tears.
