The context is a personal project. I’m an experience professional in a technical field, but not a pure programmer. I’ve been amazed by improvements between say 6 months ago and now, when it comes to producing code that works well and that makes sense for non-Top10 languages. My questions are: What precautions should I take to minimize the amount of tokens consumed? I use the Claude Code plugin in VSCode and occasionally the CLI. I understand limiting prompt size helps a lot. What else? Is there any benefit whatsoever in using agents for something that is, again, a personal project and where my inputs will still be substantial (defo no vibecoding here) Last but not least: what are the best practices you wish you had been told 6 or 12 months ago when you started using the plugin? Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/sob727
