I’m a relatively new Claude user — maybe two months in. I’d never used AI before this. Zero experience. I just wanted to jump in, learn, and build stuff. So that’s exactly what I did. At first I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I was watching every YouTube video I could find, reading every Reddit post, just absorbing whatever I could get my hands on. I didn’t have any structure, no organization, no rhyme or reason to what I was building or how I was building it. I downloaded Superpowers, OpenWolf, and Kaparty LLM for my second brain, and I just started going. Here’s the thing though — it worked. It worked really well. I kept seeing posts on here about how terrible Opus 4.7 was, how the token usage was insane, how everything was broken. I didn’t have any of those issues. I was building websites, brainstorming projects, creating business ideas, using Claude nonstop for hours at a time and never even coming close to hitting my token limits. Everything just flowed. So naturally, I had the bright idea to delete everything and start fresh. I wanted to do it “right” this time — organize everything, keep it all structured, clean out the bloat and all the random useless stuff I’d accumulated while learning. Wipe the slate clean and rebuild from the ground up. So that’s what I did. Deleted my Claude setup, every single file, all of it. Started completely over. Redownloaded OpenWolf and Superpowers, still using Kaparty for my second brain. And now? Everything is horrible. Skills don’t work like they used to. Superpowers never procs the way it did before. Claude is pushing back on things it used to handle fine and getting things wrong that it used to nail. OpenWolf isn’t saving me tokens anymore. Every single thing that I had flowing so smoothly has completely changed, and I’m using the exact same tools. I’m genuinely confused. What am I doing wrong? How did I manage to get everything running so well the first time — with zero experience and no structure — but now that I’m actually trying to be organized about it, nothing works? Has something changed on Anthropic’s end? Is there some kind of context or memory thing I blew away that I didn’t realize was carrying the weight? Someone please help me figure this out.
