Hey everyone, I need to share a highly frustrating experience with Claude Pro that exposes not only a broken token-counting architecture but also a total lack of consumer protection and blatant censorship by their community moderators. A few days ago, I noticed an absurd depletion of my paid limits. I opened a chat during off-peak hours (9:00 AM Europe time) and asked a basic, single-line question about checking active processes on my VPS. Claude gave me a brief, 3-line response. Right after that single 1-second interaction, more than 20% of my entire 5-hour session allowance was completely gone. I know exactly how context windows work, but since Claude is supposed to compact/summarize long conversation histories, a 20% drain for a basic command query is a flat-out technical glitch. When I reached out to Anthropic Support to dispute this unfair consumption, their official response blew my mind. They completely washed their hands of the issue and admitted they have zero manual control over their own platform: Think about this: You are paying a monthly premium subscription to a multi-billion dollar tech giant, and if their automated algorithm goes rogue and swallows your quota in one second, their own team cannot review the logs, cannot verify the error, and cannot reinstate your tokens. It is a complete black box, and the paying customer takes 100% of the financial damage. The worst part? The censorship. When I tried to post this official support email on the r/ClaudeAI subreddit to warn other Pro users, the moderators’ automods immediately flagged and removed the post under ridiculous, bad-faith excuses (claiming I was posting an LLM “confession” when I clearly stated it was a real email from their human support desk). They are aggressively filtering the feed and burying these complaints into dead megathreads so the general public doesn’t find out how useless their Pro support actually is. I am not looking for a refund or a free handout. I just want the premium service I pay for to work proportionally and fairly. Paying for an enhanced AI allowance shouldn’t mean losing a fifth of your capacity over a 3-line answer. Has anyone else encountered this absolute lack of support infrastructure or noticed their quota mysteriously vanishing lately? It’s time we call them out on platforms where they can’t delete the truth. submitted by /u/JosetxoXbox
