I made my first AI build video using Claude Code, and the biggest lesson was not about the app itself. It was about the workflow. I started by trying to break the build into small checkpoints instead of asking Claude to build the whole thing at once. The flow was basically: Define the product flow outside the code first Ask Claude Code for one screen or feature Run it Find what was wrong Correct the product logic Move to the next checkpoint The most useful moment was when Claude built exactly what I asked for, but I realized what I asked for was wrong. I had proof capture on the habit creation screen. Technically, Claude did the task. But product-wise, it made no sense. Proof should happen when the habit is due, not when the habit is created. That was the reminder for me: Claude Code is not a vending machine. It is more like a very fast junior engineer. It can move quickly, but you still need to know what you are building, how to test it, and when the product flow is wrong. I recorded the full build here: https://youtu.be/EmVxtOyu28Y Curious how others structure Claude Code sessions. Do you usually give it one giant spec, or do you build in checkpoints? submitted by /u/Code_Almighty
