hey. so I have a question for you. I am insecure about my ‘afro-like’ hair, and have had occasions when random people passing by would take notice of it and giggle about it, not necessarily call it bad or anything, just giggling in a way I don’t know how to interpret. This is some background context. Today, I was riding my bike home, and I ride past three teens, one boy and two girls. They started infront, not seeing me, and passed them from behind on my bike, they were on pedestrian street, I was on the road. So I pass them and one of the girls says “Hey you, can I have your hair?” and other 2 chuckled. I decided to ignore them and continue riding. And I then had a little realization, which I wanna know what you think of: Women, rightfully so, always talk about how they are constantly cat called on streets by random men in a sexual way, and they always get sexually harassed. And this is all very messed up. I’ve always thought like this and am disgusted by the situations they find themselves in. But then today, I found myself in a complete reverse situation. I was getting harassed, even if not super seriously, but for the reverse reasoning of me being ‘ugly’ in the girls opinion. And I found it disgusting that a girl, who likely has been cat called or heard of such stories, just does the exact same thing (though of course not as bad as what happens to women I am aware). How the fuck is this fair? submitted by /u/Normal-Television783
