Hi everyone, I recently moved to Zürich canton from Ticino. When I was doing the move-in process, the building management told me that the metal plaques for the mailbox, the outdoor doorbell, and the rubber one for the inner doorbell had to be ordered through the company the building works with. I was a bit annoyed because I already had perfectly good plaques from my previous place in Ticino and they’re basically all the same. But they were very clear: “No, you can’t bring yours. We have to order ones that match the rest of the building.” So I said yes, assuming that’s just how things are done here. Now I’ve received a bill for 90 CHF for the three plaques. That feels… excessive? Especially since I had no choice of provider, I couldn’t opt out and use my own, and the existing plaques in the building don’t even all use the same font , so it’s not really about strict uniformity. I’m unsure whether to just pay and move on, or if this is slightly shady and I should at least question it. submitted by /u/Tenceto
