We all know Demis’ track record in this area. It is immensely impressive, to say the least. We also know Demis has a very strict definition of AGI: A system that “should be able to do pretty much any cognitive task that humans can do. Does that mean Demis thinks AI can become software developers, PHD researchers, AI scientist, Math expert, chip engineer etc? We have not even made much progress beyond stochastic outputs. While LLMs today are vastly superior compared to yesteryears, they only got better at replicating better results, far from the independent thinking we require. Is Demis just creating hype as Deepmind CEO or do you guys really think Demis’ definition of AGI is even remotely possible by 2029? submitted by /u/Delicious_Invite_127
