So I’ve been using cc for like 6 months now (not heavy, I used codex and my brain primarily) but I’ve appreciated how it can take on long tasks. I was initially using credits to which I was spending about ~$25 a day, which was expensive considering the output. I don’t use AI for anything other than tedious coding tasks, so the thought of buying Pro didn’t seem beneficial to me, but about a week ago I decided to buy it on a whim, to see if it was any cheaper. I’m fascinated by just how much cheaper it is, I’ve been using Opus on Max reasoning and I’m yet to hit a limit, but I am genuinely questioning it. Is it switching to a lower model even though it says Opus on Max, the output has been mediocre (which I expect from AI) but also subpar to GPT 5.5 Extra High (which was expected).
