Hello there I’m a newbie here, but have a solid background in cybersecurity, specifically in software reverse engineering, malware analysis, vulnerability research. The capabilities of Claude Opus in this field (to find vulnerabilities in open source software) look quite promising, especially considering how many vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel were found and published recently by researchers using AI models. Course, this requires significant effort in mastering prompts and learning how to use a specific model. But what about the cost, it must be very expensive, right? Feeding a model sets of files, prompts, chaining them, etc. Does anyone have experience in this field? Does this have potential for independent security researchers, or this option is only suitable for corporate users? To be honest, in my opinion, the future of vulnerability research belongs to AI models, not humans. It’s just a matter of time before prices decline enough to use AI agents for this. But I may be wrong. submitted by /u/rkhunter_
