I remember playing as a kid and always preferring longswords. They were fast, strong, and always felt better than using scimitars or battle axes. I remember getting a Dlong and just slaughtering everything - it was such a huge jump in damage. It felt good, hit well, and felt like a huge jump from rune. Then I remember pre-EOC, always wanting the Chaotics Longsword. I remember people calling it the 1-handed godsword. It was always usually worse dps than the Chaotic rapier, but just felt better to use. It was iconic, legendary, and felt very runescape. I remember Woox trying out a Nex solo after release using one. As much as I like the Ghrazi Rapier, the Salad Blade, the inq mace… fang, scythe, etc. They just don’t itch the same spot as a viable longsword. I would love a new boss, raid, or whatever do give us a usable one. Jagex made slower tick weapons viable with the fang. I would like to see a Longsword also capture that. Something like the Chaotic Longsword with a terrifying strength bonus, and some passive to make it fearsome in pvm. Maybe a special attack, maybe not.
