So first, a disclaimer: You know this “advice” of just being friends with women etc.—for me it has never worked in any form. I’ve been friends with many women and nothing ever actually happened as a result. I’m not talking about extreme abstract stuff that many people claim; I mean something direct, for example: She brings you to a meetup, says something like, “I told Lucy about you, she finds you cute, buy some Desperados, she likes to drink it.” Not abstract stuff like: five years later you’re at a house party and by pure coincidence she is there with Lucy, and you say hi to Lucy.
