I grew up with my mom and aunt and don’t feel like not having a father figure in my life really affected me one way or the other. I think most of my “bad” decisions in life were my own and I kinda just corrected myself. My mom and aunt are great, don’t get me wrong. Why does society seem to label “lack of male figure” in a child’s life as the root cause of several issues? I even had a chance to “meet” my dad as a teen and I told my mom I didn’t mind one way or the other. Still don’t really think about me not having a dad unless someone brings it up, which is why curiosity got me to make this post. submitted by /u/AVBellibolt
