I keep seeing vendors slap the word “agentic” on what looks like the same RAG chatbot everyone has had for two years. I am trying to understand what genuinely separates a multi agent system that can take actions across systems from a glorified FAQ search with a nicer UI. For people who have actually deployed both, does the agentic stuff really resolve complex multi step cases reliably, or does it hallucinate and escalate the moment things get hard. I care less about the marketing and more about whether anyone has seen real resolution numbers hold up in production at a reasonable cost.
