So 4.8 dropped and it’s the same brick wall. Anything that even looks “malicious” to it = instant error, no thinking, no nothing. It won’t even answer stuff that has zero to do with the actual task. I’ve gotten the usage policy error from literally typing “hi” into a fresh session. And it’s not just me, someone opened a bug for the exact same thing, gets the usage policy error just from saying hi: https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/60366 Not shocked tbh. When they first announced Project Glasswing (shitwing, let’s be real) right before 4.7, the model already got way harder to work with. People complained, got ignored, 4.7 shipped anyway. At least with 4.7 you could route around the false positives. Then the May 22 shitwing update landed and since then the agent basically refuses to do anything. And Anthropic’s take? They’re calling it an “innovation,” a “good decision” other labs should copy. So no, I don’t think they’re walking any of this back idk if there’s even a point arguing about it at this stage. One bright spot this week: GPT 5.6 is probably dropping in a couple days. Supposedly smarter than 5.5, maybe around 4.7 level. OpenAI’s been timing their releases to land right after Anthropic anyway Personally I already moved everything high-risk off Claude. Qwen 3.7-max (basically zero censorship next to Opus) plus Codex. If you do research I’d genuinely recommend it, and apparently that goes for sysadmins and modders too now. Anyway, a few helpful suggestions for Anthropic’s super INNOVATIVE project shitwing: Go ahead and block Opus (your “for serious work” model lol) from writing C, C++, Go, Rust, PS, anything native really. That’ll for sure stop anyone from ever building a mod, a server (C2, sure) or god forbid RANSOMWARE. And ban the analysis MCPs while you’re at it, IDA, Ghidra, all of them. If the agent catches you using one it should just grab a webcam shot and forward it to the authorities as a dangerous individual Oh and put a watchdog in every app the agent builds, so even a dumb little python file sorter is quietly logging the user and reporting what it gets used for. Don’t worry, it’s not a RAT, it’s “user safety” Ok but actually. I don’t get the whole push for smarter models. Smarter model = reasons deeper, hallucinates deeper too, which just means more false positive locks over “dual use.” And I genuinely don’t know what Mythos is even supposed to be. A “cyber” model that’s allowed to do what exactly, build websites and a web UI? Anything past that gets nuked by the usage policy anyway. My money’s on the people who feel this next being the ones just trying to build normal websites. Kind of hoping Codex loosens up so we can fully jump ship around GPT-6. Maybe that finally gets Anthropic to think about how they treat the people actually paying them And the money, almost forgot. A week of my usage on Claude meant running x20 + x5, about $300/mo. Same workload on OpenAI is one x5 sub at $100. If you’re on x5 Max, plain $20 Plus is probably enough, which is honestly kind of nuts. Not happy about what I dropped on Anthropic this month submitted by /u/MonkPlastic3452
