A significant and vocal portion of the internet treats AI assistance as dishonesty, cheating, or devaluation of the work, regardless of whether the human contribution was substantial. The norms for what counts as acceptable AI use do not exist yet and builders are paying the social cost of that ambiguity.

The moment someone mention they use AI, people flip for some reason. AI hate is real and it’s causing people to stop mentioning they use AI on some projects. It’s still a mystery to me when this will stop. But in my opinion it heavily depends on how you use it. Calling all AI slop is so wrong and doesn’t give credit to the actual effort or talent of people using it. submitted by /u/lcyru
