I am a loyal Claude customer and currently subscribe to the Max plan. I have never hit my weekly limit before, and I rarely hit my 5-hour limit. The past couple of days, I hit the 5-hour limit multiple times, and now have hit my weekly limit. This was caused by Claude 4.8 burning through usage because of repeated injection scares, failed tool calls, excessive bash usage, unnecessary temp-file creation, never-ending loops, excessive polling, and a significant amount of additional usage spent trying to diagnose what was wrong with Claude itself. This isn’t anecdotal, it’s an Anthropic-side problem. Many related issues have already been filed on GitHub. I urge Anthropic to reset the weekly and 5-hour limits for affected customers, and to do so soon. submitted by /u/nseavia71501
