Hi everyone, I am an African woman in my late 20s. I moved to the United States a few years ago. Growing up in Africa, we are taught to be kind to each other, share what we have, be soft, easygoing, respectful, and see our partner as our leader. Since moving to the U.S., I have been in two relationships, and one thing I have noticed in both is narcissistic behavior. Both men were bitter, hard, self-centered, and didn’t really listen. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have the emotional strength to handle this. Before coming to the U.S. I lived in Europe, and the person I met there was just a nice guy no drama. Am new in the U.S. culture and am curious to hear from others: Are U.S. men all like this or did I just happen to meet the wrong people? Do you think cultural differences influence how people behave in relationships? submitted by /u/Illustrious-Line4031

What an incredibly useful sub. It totally makes sense that somebody made this.
