It’s just been my son and me for several years. It was really tough for a while (job loss, breast cancer, homelessness, food insecurity) but we made it to the other side. He’s heading off to college on an academic and athletic scholarship and plans to study finance. I used to think he was the best of me, but the truth is that he’s better than me. All though I’m confident that his grit and resiliency will get him far, I’m looking for advice on important things I should be sharing with him before he starts this next chapter. Is there something you think I might not be aware that I should be sharing with him (maybe that a father naturally would know to say)? submitted by /u/Due-Scarcity739
