Why are these things not opt-in by default? Why do I wake up every day and see +5 or +10k extra context in my sessions and then have to spend hours figuring out what it is? Sometimes the issue is not simple and extra tokens fall into “messages”, making the problem more illusive. Did you know that the Dynamic Workflows tools, when enabled (by default on Desktop app- at least it was for me despite my local “tengu_workflow_whatever” being disabled) causes +9k context every session, even if you don’t use it. Most users have no idea how to even utilize “Workflows” or what the architecture even is at such an early stage. Seems like some weird fundamental misunderstanding of how these things impact users all the way down to the level where reported Claude Code “issues” can be directly attributed to inflated started context windows, distorting the perception users have about the product. This is especially true for the unexperienced user who’s awareness has not extended to the deep nuances of the harness. What’s even crazier is I feel like the average user has no fucking idea what I just said. It’s great they seemed to have stopped catering to “the crowd” when it comes to hand holding and building a product more targeted to “the noob”, but god damn … What are we doing here. I need to work, not figure out where the hell +12k mystery context is coming from on the Desktop app but not Terminal Claude Code - and this morning I Need to be in the Desktop App. And don’t even fucking get me started on this new tokenizer that 1.35-2x the cost of everything I just said. 10k context today was 5-7k context yesterday. It’s all very interesting to me. Very interesting submitted by /u/Ambitious_Injury_783
