I’m not a programmer. I’m just an IT guy, and I’ve been using AI for coding and development in a passion project video game. However, I’ve been getting flack from some programming buddies saying that I need to know how to code to make the code. However, Claude Code works just fine for me. If I have a bug, I test, narrow down the issue, and Claude fixes it. I think up a new system, I write down the design and how it should work, and Claude codes it. I get a new logic asset (such as animation, or FPS logic) and Claude plugs it in, and I can make changes and additions to it. New UI, I draw it, Claude writes it. Tldr; why is there a negative connotation to using AI for simple programming, that you otherwise wouldn’t be doing (technical democratization). In my view, it’s no different than using Google maps to navigate to a location, rather than pulling out a compass and map. submitted by /u/Krum_Rum_2hell
