I’ve noticed this thing where if something humiliating happens to a man, people often react like he should just laugh it off. Things like someone messing with his appearance, making him the joke in public, touching him without permission, or doing something “as a prank” seem to get treated less seriously if the victim is a guy. I’m not saying every awkward situation needs to become a major incident, but I do think there’s a difference between a harmless joke and doing something to someone’s body or appearance without consent. It feels like men are often expected to “man up” even when they’re genuinely upset or embarrassed. Do you think people take these situations less seriously when they happen to men?
