This is the second year in a row changes to nightmare and SRA have been proposed. The general approach jagex has taken is “we know the mechanics/design of these things are painful, but we want to be cautious is how we improve it”. So we end up with tiny changes that aren’t anywhere near enough, then we do the same thing the next year. The changes this year are too little: I don’t think we want another set of nightmare and SRA changes next year. Just rip the bandaid off this year, make SRA good at TOB and make inquisitor worth it to farm out. The opportunity cost is really high here, by spending a lot of time and discussion on nightmare and SRA each year, we limit what other updates can come into the summer sweep up, and these items stay in a bad state for years. Its time to just rip the bandaid off, please just:
- Remove the stacking mechanic from SRA. Make its damage equal to 5/5 stacks. Its already significantly worse then scythe on 3x3 targets. Ayak is a lot closer to Shadow then SRA is to scythe.
- Remove the two orbs from the nightmare table, make the time to acquire a mace similiar to saeldor, and time to finish the inquisitor set similiar to oathplate. This allows us to visit other pain points, Like corp and cox and a few of the other things they’ve called out over the past blogs and livestreams, rather then doing too little and relegating us to SRA/Nightmare jail for another year in a row. submitted by /u/aryastarkia
