In late February, I was sexually assaulted and contracted genital HSV-1. I’ve always been very careful about sexual health—testing regularly, discussing testing with partners, and only having sex within serious relationships. My doctor and nurse told me disclosure wasn’t medically necessary, but I personally feel that I should disclose to any future partner.
