I’m quite a socially anxious person, so there is a chance I’m overthinking this, I just had a young man ask for my instagram and I feel like I could have been nicer in rejecting his request. He was very polite, but he looked to be about 18 and I’m in my mid-twenties so I smiled and sad sorry, no. But then he asked why and I had no idea what to say - I didn’t want to lie and said I had a boyfriend or something and I felt like telling him he’s too young or not my type could be interpreted as rude (and he might just look young and then I’d have to find another reason haha). So I just told him „no reason, just no”, which I think in hindsight may have come off a little rude :/ So, dear Men, do you have and tips on how to reject this type of request in the most polite way possible and what to give as a reason if asked? :) submitted by /u/justintch
