I’ve been told my whole life that only men are cheaters, liars, and manipulators. However, as I’ve grown up and talked to people about their experiences, I’ve come to the conclusion that human beings, as a whole, are morally equal. It was difficult for me to understand at first because many of my male friends made sexist and mean jokes. But over time, I realized that women can do the same things, and sometimes even more subtly. Some people are simply better at hiding those behaviors than others. I can understand why I thought that way for a long time. I had some wonderful women around me, basically my whole childhood, I tended to put women on a pedestal, and try my best to not be like those “mean men” I often heard about. As I got older, though, I realized that women, just like men, can have dark thoughts, flaws, and imperfections. For example, many enjoy dark romance stories, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. It simply took me some time to fully understand that women are just as human and complex as men. At what age, or because of what experience, did you realize that there’s no such thing as “men are bad and women are good”? submitted by /u/Adventurous_Pop_3138
