My X timeline today is wall-to-wall 20-year-olds crying about YC rejection. Every single one is “building an AI tool.” None of them have ever had a real job. None of them have shipped anything to a real user. Most of them couldn’t debug their own wrapper without Claude holding their hand. This is the pipeline now: Learn to prompt Wrap an API Apply to YC at 19 Get rejected Tweet about it like a war wound Repeat Nobody wants to be an engineer anymore. Nobody wants to spend three years getting their ass kicked at a real company, learning how products actually get built, how customers actually behave, how things break in production at 2am. Everyone wants to skip straight to “founder” because YC made it the only respectable title and AI made the work look trivial. submitted by /u/Permit-Historical
