The victims, who submitted testimonies to the court on May 29, 2026, fear new attacks and doxxing if their real names are disclosed. Attorney Sofia Rios from Berger Montague noted that after stripping them of their clothes, xAI is now attempting to strip the plaintiffs of their pseudonyms and intimidate them. According to data from the Center for Countering Digital Hate, the Grok chatbot was used to create approximately 3 million explicit images in just 11 days. Professor Danielle Citron explained that the demand to disclose the victims’ identities will force many of them to abandon their legal battle. The victims, including Roe from South Carolina, are prepared to drop the lawsuit if the court grants xAI’s May 15 motion.
