Yeah, this could be a “schizo” or “tinfoil” take. But this is pretty much what I believed they did (and I could be wrong if the new model is actually good):
- Announce new “Mythos” model that has “groundbreaking capabilities”.
- Gobble up the marketing hype to help with their IPO.
- State that the aforementioned model will be released in the coming weeks.
- Create a new watered down model (most likely the one called Fable that they’ll release), that’s gonna be another dogshit model, so they can never catch flak for dropping the model that had these “groundbreaking capabilities”. It’s this nasty form of gaslighting. If this next model isn’t good, or is just another shit model, they shouldn’t be taken seriously ever again tbh. submitted by /u/unteth
